MY ONE AND ONLY


I’ve surrendered to so many things,
Most of which came easy,
With these things I had no faith,
Still I could hear God weeping,
I could not see the light of day,
Trapped within the dark,
I hoped and prayed for an angel to come my way,
So lost was I that I wished for death,
Little did I know,
An angel God did send,
For I was told what I wished I would get,
My old life died that evening,
I was told I was not alone,
For I would not have heard God weeping,
My tears dried and in their place,
A spark of light shone across my face,
From then on I search for more,
When I stumble its towards God’s door,
For I was saved within God’s grace,
I surrender to thee, My one and only,
For it was thee that had faith in me,
God sent his mercy upon an angel’s wing,
I’ve surrendered to so many things,
Yet until now,
Not one of them truely came easy
